Most sought for by those concerned with animal welfare, it’s made from polyurethane (PU), that is more eco-friendly and longer lasting than most other plastic.

At VIDO, we use the highest-quality vegan leathers that give an amazing touch and feel. Water-based, solvent-free, and with increased sustainability in the production process, our vegan leather is also less harming to the environment, as the tanning and dyeing of animal leather takes loads of energy and toxic chemicals.

We know how important the size of checkers is to Backgammon lovers.

Our checkers for our Large Backgammon Sets are respecting the competition size cherished by aficionados: the famous 44mm diameter standard.

For our Medium Backgammon Sets, we made sure to keep a pleasant wide diameter of 29mm.

A large backgammon set is designed for tournaments and competition, with 44mm checkers and a handle for convenience of transport. Dimensions: 51 x 36 x 6.5 cm or 20 x 14 x 2.6 inch.

The medium backgammon is a versatile option meant for passionate gamers, as well as casual players. You can use it anywhere, whether at home or outdoors. Dimensions: 38 x 24.5 x 5.5 cm or 15 x 9.7 x 2.1 inch.

The objective of playing the backgammon game is to move all the checkers to the home board and bear them off (remove them from the board).

VIDO backgammon sets consists of a game board, 30 checkers, 4 dices and a doubling cube.

Backgammon is played by two players with each player having 15 checkers of a particular colour and a pair of dice.

The game board has 4 quadrants with each quadrant having 6 long triangles called pips or points. Each alternate triangle has a similar colour in alternate rows. Each player has a home board and outer board with a divider called a bar separating them.

To start playing backgammon, each player must roll a die, and the one who gets the highest number on rolling it will move the checkers first. Then, the players alternate turns rolling both the dice and move the checkers according to the number rolled. Every time they roll the dice, it determines the points to move the checkers, which are moved forward in the direction of the home board. When all your checkers move out of the home board first, you win.

Checkers can be purchased by unit, and dice by two pieces, so you don’t have to replace your all set. Check our Accessories section to shop our beautiful backgammon stones and dice.

We use only durable and quality materials for our backgammon boards, so you can trust your board will last very long, should you follow our below care tips:

Avoid prolonged sun exposure and keep away from heat sources.

Do not spill liquid on the arrow board felt or the vegan leather of your board. In such unfortunate case, wipe off and absorb the excess liquid immediately with a dry clean cloth.

To remove minor stains on the vegan leather, use a soft and lightly damp cloth.

Currently, we only offer the large size of chess sets: 14.4 x 14.4 x 2 inch - 36.5 x 36.5 x 5.2 cm.

We primarily focus on indoor chess and backgammon boards designed for optimal durability and aesthetics. Our games can however definitely be used outdoors, yet we strongly recommend to store the games indoor after playing. Outdoor usage may result in wear and tear, affecting their longevity and appearance.
